PURPOSE

As a Forklift driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of stock within the warehouse and yard while supporting receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and customer collections. The role plays a vital part in maintaining inventory accuracy, promoting a safe working environment, and ensuring customers receive exceptional service through the timely handling of products.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12.
  • One (1) year experience as a Forklift Driver, or similar role.
  • Valid Forklift Operator Licence/Certificate 5T.
  • 1–2 years' experience operating a forklift within a warehouse, logistics, retail or distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, stock handling and inventory control.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a demanding warehouse environment.
  • Code B Drivers’ License.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of Forklift maintenance.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Safely load, offload, transport and stack stock while adhering to all health and safety standards.
  • Ensure stock is safely stored in designated warehouse locations to maximise space utilisation and inventory control.
  • Support picking, packing and dispatch activities by ensuring products are available and delivered on time.
  • Assist customers with the safe and efficient collection of goods while providing professional customer service.
  • Conduct daily forklift inspections and report defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Participate in stock takes and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment in line with housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain excellent customer service.
  • Participate in bi-annual stock stocks.

PERSONAL

  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, flexible and energetic.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping is a MUST.
