The Senior Payroll Consultant will primarily be responsible for the processing and delivery of employee payroll data to be used for remuneration purposes, for multiple clients. This position will include time and attendance related duties, processing of employee benefits and overall maintenance of the employee filing system. The incumbent will also act as an advisor to clients and advise on correct and/or best practices where changes in legislation are concerned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: Senior Certificate or NQF level 4 equivalent. Advantageous: Certificate from Sage 300 People Honours Degree EXPERIENCE 5 + years’ experience on Sage 300 processing the payroll. Working with a headcount of 1500 and more. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Proficient in Sage 300 People. Excellent general computer literacy. Advanced Excel Skills, including Smart Reporting, BIM. Excellent knowledge of Human Resources Management Systems and practices. Knowledge of the BCEA, the Income Tax Act, LRA, COIDA, EE Act and the Skills Development Act. Excellent knowledge of medical aid schemes and pension funds. Excellent knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles. RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Setup monthly schedules for clients. Ensure payroll input is received each month. Processing input accurately (1 loop process). Process a minimum of 1500 employees during payroll. Process multiple payrolls. Import take-on of financial information for tax year-end purposes. Ensure approval from clients is received timeously. Accurately complete job card per client. Resolve queries that arise at the clients(s). Run payments files and follow up on payments if required. Ensure payslips and invoices are issued in a timely manner. Responsible for final reporting. Ensuring that UIF submissions are made in a timely manner. Capturing data for EMP201 payments and ensuring payments are released. Conduct Tax Year end reconciliations. Ensuring mid-year SARS (EMP501) submissions are done prior to the deadline agreed to. Third party schedules and payments are done if required. Generating WCA and EE reports to be sent annually. Provide assistance to clients with submissions of COIDA Return of Earnings. Perform ad hoc reporting / consulting, as and when required. Display independent problem solving ability when required. Maintaining the administrative processes and procedures. Provide guidance to the Junior Payroll Consultants. Display a working knowledge of surrounding business systems and the manner in which SAGE should be integrated with these systems. Log unresolved queries and complaints on the CRM system and escalate where applicable. Perform any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
