The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

  • Configuration of computers and software applications to ensure users are able to perform duties;
  • Configuration of network switches to ensure communication between networked devices and domains;
  • Customizing application settings to allow most effective method of operation;
  • Installing various applications required by users;
  • Active directory maintenance as required;
  • Configuration and maintenance of domains for the factory environment;
  • Provide support for all computer hardware, IS Systems, MS Office applications and workstation operating system issues;
  • Conduct research on alternate methods/technologies as well as updates of software;
  • Commitment and compliance to the requirements of the continuous business improvement program (20 Keys), and any other company management systems;
  • The individual must be able to work under pressure and swiftly resolve queries.

 

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum qualification: Degree or suitable Diploma in IT such as A+, MCE or MCSE; VOIP;
  • Working knowledge of networking and Fibre optics, VLans, Cisco and Desktop/Server support;
  • Software support preferably with Scada systems, SQL, MS Office, RDS, printers and print servers;
  • Attention to detail, systematic approach to problem solving, proven track record in solving complex technical and system-level issues;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on accurate and meaningful feedback to user;
  • Have a valid code 8/EB driver’s license as well as reliable transport;
  • To be flexible around working hours and provide Information Systems support as and when operationally required outside of normal working hours;
  • Must be service orientated, have interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • High level of personal and professional integrity.
