Role Purpose:

To lead the logistics, both inbound and outbound, ensuring that transport and forklifts within the mill is handled safely.

Required Qualifications:

• Grade 12.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5 year's experience in Warehousing & Distribution.
• Administration practices – Data capturing, Reporting.
• Team leadership experience will be beneficial.
• Preference will be given to those with experience in a planning / dispatch or logistics function.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Proficient in SAP and MS Office Suite (strong focus on Excel)
• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Be stress tolerant and able to work in an environment characterized by conflicting deadlines.
• Good organizational and time management skill.
• Data Integrity and accuracy of filing.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive the forklift drivers daily to ensure that loading and offloading effectively meet customer service levels.
• Drive a culture of commitment to key performance indicators (KPI's) by creating awareness and providing recognition for attainment of KPI's within the forklift team.
• Utilize regular communication channels and team meetings to promote continuous improvement and best practice daily.
• Active engagement with the call center to manage trucks coming on site, loading and off loading.  
• Responsible for continuous alignment of debriefing of forklift drivers for accurate processing of documentation.
• Ensuring all picking and loading is done and processed by maintaining tracking and reporting for documentation compliance.
• Count bag stock daily.
• Count empty bags daily.
• Issue empty bags to production daily.
• Inspect forklfits daily to report maintenance and repair work.
• Report all damage to stock and vehicles daily.
• Discuss all damage to stock and vehicles daily with drivers and expect corrective action on behavior of the team.
• Plan and issue PPE to forklift drivers and ensure proper compliance to standard operating procedure.
• Drive a forklift as when and required.
