The ideal Central Region Demand Planner will be responsible for:
- Breeder (Farm) egg planning and depletion schedules.
- Egg-setting coordination between the hatcheries in order to coordinate broiler placements within flock ages.
- Daily feedback and planning of the Astral Group hatching egg bank working with the COO's and Agriculture Managers in the various regions.
- Broiler placement co-ordination to ensure chick placements per house size and flock ages. Over time with growth in the region, house sizes vary significantly between farms, which further complicates the planning.
- Logistical support for on time planning to the various fleet co-ordinators.
- Coordination with the CR Commercial division, based on budgeted requirements and required slaughters.
- Support Budget planning for the CR - mainly volume budgets.
- Align expansion volumes and farm and hatchery planning for expansion.
- Weekly forecasting based on sales volumes and chick purchases - join weekly forecast meetings.
- Egg bank and chick availability forecast - continuous for the CR but also on a group level.
- Support with Astral Farms System (AFS), on IT development of the system to optimise the system production and reduce dependency on spreadsheets.
- Ensure data integrity on AFS.
- Ensure traceability of broilers to parent flocks.
- Lease with other hatcheries in the group on chick and egg planning.
The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Qualification in Information Technology or qualification relevant to the role i.e. Supply Management or Economics
- Experience in using Production IT systems
- Experience in the Poultry environment is advantageous
