Branch Supervisor - Build It, Rehoboth  Rehoboth

Main Function of the Role

To oversee the daily operations of the branch, ensuring effective staff management, operational efficiency, adherence to health and safety standards, and achievement of budget and performance targets. The Branch Supervisor will also be responsible for implementing and executing Human Resources (HR) and Industrial Relations (IR) policies and procedures at branch level.

Key Performance Areas

1. Operational Management
• Supervise daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows across all departments.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability through accurate ordering and receiving.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and industry regulations.
• Address operational issues promptly to minimize disruption and maximize customer satisfaction.

2. Staff Management & Development
• Lead, motivate, and manage a team of sales, warehouse, and support staff.
• Monitor staff performance and provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews.
• Schedule shifts, manage attendance, and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
• Identify training needs and coordinate with HR to develop and implement training programs.

3. Budget & Financial Oversight
• Monitor branch performance against sales targets and budget allocations.
• Analyze variances and implement corrective measures to meet or exceed financial goals.
• Control operational costs and optimize resource utilization to enhance profitability.

4. Health & Safety Compliance
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for staff and customers by implementing health and safety policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments in the store and warehouse.
• Train staff on safety protocols and emergency procedures.

5. Human Resources & Industrial Relations
• Execute HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, discipline, performance management, and terminations.
• Ensure fair labor practices and compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Manage employee grievances and coordinate with HR for conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Promote a positive work environment and support employee engagement initiatives.

6. Customer Service Excellence
• Ensure customer service standards are consistently met or exceeded.
• Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently.
• Support team members in delivering knowledgeable and friendly customer assistance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Tertiary qualification in Business Management or related field advantageous).
• Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a supervisory role, preferably within the building or retail hardware industry.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, sales principles, and inventory management.
• Proven experience in staff management, HR practices, and industrial relations.
