SUMMARY

The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing all sales activities within the store. This includes managing and motivating the sales team, setting and monitoring targets, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction (particularly among contractors), and ensuring that the store achieves its monthly sales budget.

 

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Proven ability to drive team performance toward measurable targets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse and interpret sales data
  • Knowledge of builder’s hardware products and industry practices is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office and POS systems

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Grade 12, with 23 Points; post-secondary qualification in business, sales, or related field is advantageous
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in hardware/building materials retail
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a sales supervisory or management role
  • Basic financial acumen and reporting ability
  • Valid Driver’s License
