DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiates the draft monthly reports on analysis of deposits, credit statistics of depository corporations and other financial statistics;
  • Implements updated compilation and publication methodologies arising from relevant manuals covering international standards in statistics;
  • Regularly reviews and updates metadata on relevant statistics and ensures effective dissemination;
  • Preparing reserve requirements calculations and notification letters;
  • Preparing BFS, Annual Report and IFS tables, and updating of National Summary Data Page;
  • Regularly completes questionnaire on access to and use of financial services within the economy;
  • Conducts analytical research as may be required in the relevant area of work;
  • Contributes as required towards the Department’s dissemination programme;
  • Participates in Start-up meetings of the MPC;
  • Allocates work to and supervises Senior Statistical Assistants in the Unit; and
  • Undertakes such other duties as directed by the Senior Statistical Analyst or Principal Statistical Analyst.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Accurate and timely financial sector data; 
  • Competent, timely and relevant research briefs on monetary and financial sector issues, with a view to inform policy decision;
  • Supervise, develop and train staff in line with strategic objectives of the Bank; and
  • Coordinate updates of the financial sector statistics database.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computing, Data Science/Analytics or related areas and 
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computing, Data Science/Analytics or related fields.

  • Two (2) years post qualification experience in statistical analysis, monetary economics, development economics, international trade and finance.
