Astral, a leading South African integrated poultry producer, has an Electrical Assistant opportunity at County Fair, Primary Processing Plant in Fisantekraal.

The purpose of this position is to uphold and maintain the standards required by County Fair and maintain the health and safety standards.

The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

• ​Routine maintenance on processing equipment;
• Attending to all unscheduled processing interruptions resulting from breakdowns;
• Installation and maintenance of processing equipment including during weekends;
• Adhering to 20 Keys principles and general housekeeping rules

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum grade 12 or at least a N2 qualification in Electrical Engineering;
• Previous experience in the electrical and mechanical maintenance repair of Poultry Processing and Rendering Plant equipment will be a distinct advantage;
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans;
• The candidate should be hardworking, honest and self-motivated;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent problem solving skills;
• Ability to work under pressure and swift attendance of any maintenance issues
• Basic understanding of the 20 Keys concept is essential;
• Must be able to work independently and cope well under pressure;
• It is essential that the successful candidate be self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines;
• Willing to work shift and overtime including week-ends when necessary;
• Must have own reliable transport
