1. Main Function of the Role

The Buyer - Automotive will be responsible for sourcing and procuring quality automotive products, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely availability of stock to meet the business’s operational and strategic needs. This role supports product accuracy in SAGE X3 and contributes to procurement excellence across the supply chain.

 

2. Key Performance Areas

  • Execute stock replenishment order cycles to maintain optimal product availability.

  • Source and evaluate suppliers and automotive products ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

  • Manage stock-outs, backorders, and assist with special orders to minimize supply disruptions.

  • Maintain and build strong supplier relationships through effective negotiation of pricing, delivery terms, and contracts.

  • Update and maintain product master data on SAGE X3, ensuring accuracy of pricing and product information.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to support business objectives and resolve procurement-related issues.

  • Continuously improve product and technical knowledge relevant to automotive parts and accessories.

 

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Diploma in Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or purchasing, preferably within the automotive parts or accessories industry.

  • Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.

 

4. Skills and Attributes

  • In-depth knowledge of automotive aftermarket parts, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.

  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends and inventory requirements.

  • Proficient in using SAGE X3 and stock replenishment software such as Just Enough.

  • Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Highly reliable, honest, and trustworthy with strong initiative and self-motivation.

  • Ability to work accurately and independently under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Valid Driver’s License.
