A vacancy for an Electrician currently exists at Meadow Feeds Paarl in the Western Cape.

 

The successful candidate would be responsible for the following key duties:

  • Effective maintenance of plant electrical equipment with a reliability mindset
  • Scheduled maintenance (preventive and safety schedules)
  • Breakdown maintenance
  • Installation of electrical equipment and assistance on projects where required
  • Adherence to health and safety rules at all times.
  • Commitment and compliance to the requirements of ISO, HACCP, 20 Keys, Astral Code of Ethics and any other company management systems.

The ideal candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • A qualified Electrician with a minimum N3 certificate.
  • Completed apprenticeship with a Trade Test Certificate.
  • A minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a production environment.
  • Have a basic knowledge of PLC systems.
  • The ideal candidate should preferably reside in or around the Paarl area or willing to relocate.
  • A wireman’s licence would be advantageous.
  • Be pro-active and able to use own initiative.
  • Previous experience in an animal feed manufacturing plant would be an advantage.
  • Must be prepared to work overtime and standby as required.
  • Must have own transport.
  • Personal and professional integrity.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to progress in a multi-skilled environment and a willingness to learn.
