1. Main Function of the Role

The Inventory & Stock Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of stock management and product control within the company. This role ensures accurate stock levels, minimizes losses, maintains product quality, and enforces compliance with inventory procedures. The incumbent supervises the inventory coordination team, monitors product displays, and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and operational effectiveness.

2. Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of inventory coordinators, ensuring staff perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee stock take and audit processes, ensuring counts are accurate and reconciled with system records.
  • Review and verify stock discrepancy reports, investigate variances, and implement corrective measures.
  • Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) to minimize losses from outdated or expired stock.
  • Monitor product displays and shelf organization, ensuring stock is clean, well-labeled, and correctly priced.
  • Enforce inventory control procedures and maintain compliance with company policies.
  • Generate and review stock reports, audit summaries, and stock valuation reports for management.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and availability.
  • Lead periodic performance reviews, training, and guidance for inventory staff.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce shrinkage, and improve accuracy.
  • Ensure safety, cleanliness, and order in all storage and display areas.

3. Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in inventory management, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience managing stock audits, inventory reconciliation, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a team of inventory staff.
  • Experience conducting performance reviews, training, and providing guidance.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of inventory management systems and MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions effectively.

Organizational & Operational Skills:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain stock quality and ensure compliance with procedures.

Personal Attributes:

  • High integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams.
  • Physically able to inspect, handle, and manage stock safely.
  • Valid Namibian Driving License is compulsory.
