Infrastructure System Administrator Windhoek

Role purpose:

The role is responsible for administering servers, cloud, and virtual and physical infrastructure and perform enterprise data backups as well as support the implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure.

Required Qualifications and Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems or Computer Science or related.
VMware 5.5 or later.
HP ProLiant ML/DL/SL Servers.
MTC Vehicle Usage Procedure requires that all employees have a valid driver’s license.

Required Experience:

Total work experience of 5 years is required to work in this position.
At least 5 years experience working in an IT environment with a focus on infrastructure installation, monitoring, enterprise backup and administration.
Minimum of 3 years experience in performance tuning.
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite experience is required.

Required Competencies:

Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as relevant ISO standards, NIST and CIS benchmarks.
Knowledge of system and server security, enterprise backup and recovery.
Knowledge of systems engineering, systems operations, and systems performance analysis skills.
Sound knowledge of digital and analog embedded computer hardware.
Knowledge of computing infrastructures.
Excellent troubleshooting skills in complex software and hardware problems with attention to detail.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues.
