Key ResponsibilitiesΒ 

  • Drive truck and bakkie
  • Transporting staff, union meetings, transporting staff between farms
  • Knowledge of vehicles/trucks and high standards of driving skills, should have knowledge of Health and Safety, Road Safety, Environmental Safety and Animal WelfareΒ 
  • Collection of goodsΒ 
  • Β Customer relations, be professional, be helpful and assertive when offloading chicks and eggsΒ 
  • Deliveries to farms on timeΒ 
  • Communication and planning of deliveries and pick-ups to customers, service for maximum production resultsΒ 
  • Daily checking of vehicles and trucksΒ 
  • Recording of mileages and kilometresΒ 
  • Washing, disinfection of trucksΒ 
  • Transporting of eggs from Laying sites to HatcheryΒ 
  • Transport of chicks to internal and external customersΒ 
  • Movement of equipment between sitesΒ 
  • Collection of spares and material from suppliers that cannot deliverΒ 
  • General driving of vehicles/trucks/utility bakkies
  • Managing security of truck (ensure trucks are securely locked), keys are kept atΒ designated area.
  • Monitoring of temperatures of trucks aircon during deliveries of chicks/eggs. - Reporting of any deviations
  • Accountable for egg and chick stock count
  • Correct procedure to follow with on and off loading of eggs – secure the load
  • Identify and report any deviations on the truck
  • Identify any additional cost savings initiatives on the trucksΒ

Education and Qualification

  • MatricΒ / Grade 12
  • Valid code 10 drivers’ license, code 14 would be an added advantage with valid PDP.
  • Minimum of 3 years driving experience
Competencies
  • Valid passport
  • Able to do simple arithmetic
  • Able to read and write
  • Flexible hours, be self motivated and able to make decisions on his own at times
  • Good communication and understanding
  • Ability to plan
