Key Responsibilities 

Drive truck and bakkie Transporting staff, union meetings, transporting staff between farms Knowledge of vehicles/trucks and high standards of driving skills, should have knowledge of Health and Safety, Road Safety, Environmental Safety and Animal Welfare  Collection of goods   Customer relations, be professional, be helpful and assertive when offloading chicks and eggs  Deliveries to farms on time  Communication and planning of deliveries and pick-ups to customers, service for maximum production results  Daily checking of vehicles and trucks  Recording of mileages and kilometres  Washing, disinfection of trucks  Transporting of eggs from Laying sites to Hatchery  Transport of chicks to internal and external customers  Movement of equipment between sites  Collection of spares and material from suppliers that cannot deliver  General driving of vehicles/trucks/utility bakkies Managing security of truck (ensure trucks are securely locked), keys are kept at designated area. Monitoring of temperatures of trucks aircon during deliveries of chicks/eggs. - Reporting of any deviations Accountable for egg and chick stock count Correct procedure to follow with on and off loading of eggs – secure the load Identify and report any deviations on the truck Identify any additional cost savings initiatives on the trucks

 

Education and Qualification

• Matric / Grade 12
• Valid code 10 drivers’ license, code 14 would be an added advantage with valid PDP.
• Minimum of 3 years driving experience
