Polywoven Production Manager  Okahandja

1. Main Function of the Role

To manage and optimize all Polywoven production operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, cost control, safety compliance, and team performance are achieved efficiently and effectively.

2. Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

Production Management

  • Manage the daily operations of the Polywoven production plant.
  • Ensure production targets, schedules, and deadlines are achieved.
  • Monitor production output and operational performance.
  • Optimize production processes to improve efficiency.

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Manage production staff and shift operations.
  • Enforce discipline, performance standards, and accountability.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members.
  • Foster a productive and performance-driven work environment.

Quality Control

  • Ensure products meet company quality standards.
  • Monitor quality performance and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on product consistency and customer requirements.

Cost and Waste Management

  • Monitor production costs and wastage.
  • Implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce losses.
  • Support cost-effective production practices.

Maintenance and Operational Efficiency

  • Work closely with the technical team to minimize machine downtime.
  • Support preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment operate efficiently.

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
  • Promote a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures.

Reporting and Performance Monitoring

  • Analyze production data and operational reports.
  • Use performance metrics to support decision-making.
  • Report production performance to the General Manager.

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience managing production operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and machinery.
  • Experience leading and managing teams.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel and email.
  • Knowledge of production cost control and waste management.
  • Experience in quality control and safety management is advantageous.
  • Must be willing to reside in Okahandja.
