1. Main Function of the Role

The primary role of the Sales Representative is to drive sales by identifying and capturing new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining customer relationships, and promoting Megabuild's products and services. The individual will serve as the liaison between customers, contractors, and the branch to ensure successful order processing and customer satisfaction.

2. Key Performance Areas

  1. Sales and Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new developments, projects, and potential sales opportunities.
    • Proactively identify material requirements on-site and capture business.
    • Follow up on quotes and renegotiate as needed in collaboration with the Branch Manager.
  2. Customer Engagement:
    • Visit sites and introduce Megabuild products/services to potential customers.
    • Advise contractors and customers on the most cost-effective products for their projects or refurbishments.
    • Inform customers about Megabuild's credit facilities and assist in expediting orders.
  3. Competitor and Market Analysis:
    • Monitor and assess competitor strengths and weaknesses and take appropriate action.
    • Negotiate with suppliers on key items, specials, and direct products when necessary.
  4. Administrative and Support Functions:
    • Ensure accurate processing of customer orders with the branch.
    • Maintain records of customer interactions and sales activities in alignment with company policies.

3. Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 11 (New Curriculum) or Grade 12 (NSSC-O) with at least 22 marks.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sales Representative in the building industry.
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of building industry products is essential.
  • Familiarity with the β€œKerridge” system will be an added advantage.
